Mzuzu based underground rapper by the name Day 27, is set to release home town glory in a few weeks to come (date not yet set). The rapper confirmed the development in an exclusive interview with topview media last week.
In the interview the rapper said that this track is a track for the society as it talks of the struggles faced by everybody on daily basis. He said he got inspired by many people who overcome these daily struggles and at the end of the day stand strong with a feeling of that marvelous victory.
Day 27 released graduation of a lyricist last month and one would surely say its one of those tracks you would comment on and say "yeah, this is what we want". This graduation of a lyricist is rather much more political but with a bunch of relevant points as far as the way things in our country are going.
"I love it when i rap about this i see and things i go through, its much easier and people understand them well rather than talking about things you know nothing about" said Day 27
"Everyone out there should expect more of mature music from me as i dont plan on doing some bubblegum music." he added
It is of shame when you look at most artists and see what they talk about in their music, totally out of point. They talk about stuff they got little knowledge about. Rhyming also is killing some artist, with no or less expertise mostly rhyming tends to change the subject in many of songs you can give a listen to.
Asked on what he feels about rhyming, Day 27 seems not to care much about that. To him making a clear point is far much important so as to get everyone glued to the storyline in any song he jumps on
"I worry less about rhyming, am not saying i dont rhyme but mostly i would rather tell a better story in my song than twist it because of rhyming. I take my music serious and in this hometown glory i had to express all my thoughts, fears, pain and memories for my town. Everybody will love this song." he said.
