The Government should do something about Malawian art says Chycoon

Born in Zambia, raised in Malawi Chainda Mbera commonly known as Conel Chycoon is one regga/dancehall artist you wont afford to miss when it comes to playing urban vibes in Malawi. The 28 year old star who believes Malawi music is getting better every second blames the government for not taking its part in the promotion of art in the country.

Chycoon says every day a hot artist rises from the ghettos with a great deal of skills that can be of much help to the artist and to the government as well. He believes that only if government takes a bigger role in art. artists will be respected in a way any artist deserves to be. He suggests that  government should atleast come up with policies that will give a bit of protection to art and that it should also organize events which can be a platform for artists to gain their much needed exposure which in conjunction with good promotion and distribution will highly benefit every talented person out there.

He also urge government to direct local media houses to put local talent first, it pains him the most to see that though Malawians are doing the best they can these media houses keep promoting art from abroad more than they do with local products. To him atleast 80-90%  of airplay should be home made products and the rest should be for foreign products.

It would also be of great pleasure to him if the same government can be stiff enough to deal with piracy issues in the country. He says piracy strips off artist's benefits as pirates are the ones who gets the bigger pie leaving an artist with nothing but just a simple name in the industry. This is really unfair, why is it that the one who enjoys the sweetness of the fruits isnt the one who sweats?

Asked if the ministry responsible is capable of doing this Chycoon says he absolutely believe it can deliver because the people in those offices were voted to do what matters to their people and this is one thing that matters most to each and every artist in the country.
"I believe our govenment can do it, yes i know that it can make our industry a better place for every artist here. Look at our music, its outstanding. We can compete with our international counterparts, our level of standards is getting better each and everyday so government should just hurry up and clean the mess we have in the industry" said Chycoon

"Big up to the few radio and tv personalities who make sure Malawian talent is exposed to the max but i would like to urge those who stick to foreign talent to try and promote local stuff which is much relavant to Malawians. All the people who support me and ofcourse other local artists i say salute we cant be where we are without you guys. One love to every producer out there who i've worked with and everybody out there salute, expect my album coming out later this year" he added

One time freedom is the album that he is supposed to drop later this year and he made it clear that its gonna be one of the kind with the coolest vibes ever. He chose to take time so that when the album drops it really should carry what people need to hear.
