Recently Lilongwe based hiphop artist Uniq Mic made an announcement that he is working on a mixtape which by then had two options for a tittle that is The Movement and The year of the mic. Last week topview updates had to ask him on the progress of that very same untittled mixtape and the Grown Simba hit maker was proud to say he has now finally made a decision on what will be the title for the mixtape.
To him it was quiet challenging to decide as both of the titles are very much relavant to the mixtape as a whole but he had to choose The Movement. This mixtape is supposed to be released as soon as possible and the star thinks he can handle the heat and the pressure that is placed on him as he has to work on singles as well the mixtape. Uniq thinks he can handle it well because lyrics to him just come everytime evrywhere as long as he is in a great mood, he calls that as one of his blessings.
Everything around him inspires his art, he can make a song out of his personal experiences or other peoples experiences as well. Courage is all he need and thats something he get from people who appreciate his work, for example he got much encouraged by people from abroad when he released being a man a song which was written in a day but full of realities as people relate it to their personal expriences.
The only approach to doing the right thing in music is to catch lyrics which are applicable to real life, thats the only great way he can think of. He thinks that this is the best way because you dont have to lie or bring doubt to your listeners but you only show them what they know and what they can easily believe. But if you make some fiction music someone may easily fall out of your music because they will find it hard to believe and perhaps hard to relate it to their own life.
"I would like to urge all my fellow artists to focus on reality when making music, its easy and quiet applicable to others. I also wanna make it clear that though there is much pressure on me to releaase a mixtape in just a month i will do everything in my artistic power to deliver the best. I can handle it just watch how The Movement is gonna be like" said Uniq
"Artists should avoid filling the industry with unrelated stuff, lets be real and lets rap about what we know so that when others give out an ear to our songs they should have that feeling of i want some more from this guy" he added
Just soon after he released grown simba Uniq Mic is working on yet another dope tune in which he features Advocate, a rapper from Chanco on a beat produced by Vin C who happens to be his room mate. A room mate is commonly known as a mesho in Malawian schools. He also plans to drop a tune with Ray Millz on a Young LT beat, Young LT is yet another dope producer Malawi has ever raised.
