Rootsman is a reggae star based in balaka, he joined the music community in september 2009 and it really has been a nice ride ever since. Bob Marley and Morgan Heritage are the international artists that inspired this young man to go into reggae. Locally he was taken up high by the Mighty Ivory Band of balaka.
To reach out to both the youth and elderly is his desire and he says come in two years time he will sit back and say mission accomplished.

Together with his friends in balaka rootsman created the sunset crew which started with four members but now with seven. They have shot a video tittled tipange business a while ago and now they are workin on another tittled ndikovuta

                                                                   Chippie Chiand

Chippie Chiand is another reggae dancehall sensation based in the capital city lilongwe. The boy has jumped on several riddims by warge records and tk more. His hit single waloladi has taken many by surprise as its just something very creative. He has worked with trigga, munandi and many more in lilongwe.

Chippie is planning of shooting the waloladi hit which talks of a man who never thought a girl would love him for who he is. All he thought was all girls would want to fall in love with a playa or some richman`s son, but he got it all wrong when this beautiful lady accepted his proposal.

Rayceian is a mzuzu based rapper, this boy got skills that can make you appreciate and realize what malawi is holding in the ghettos. He has worked with guys like Cliffdaddy, Lady Pace, Carbon, Strigga, and many more from the city. Rayce together with Xander and Skylight formed a clique known as Mijavi boys and seriously these boys are doing it big.

K Miz drops a mixtape

K Miz, another dope rapper from Lilongwe is this coming monday expected to drop My Life Story mixtape. The mixtape will be available on www.malawi-music.com for streaming and downloads. Miz indicated that the mixtape consists of only five songs as follows

Carter and Hi Squad to drop kanyenyezi

Hi squad is a music group base in Mzuzu city in the northern part of Malawi. The group consists of  three guys namely Native Carter, Real Manzy and 2sta. As a group they have recorded songs like we takin over  and zili pa fb just to mention a few. 

Now the squad is in with another banger tittled kanyenyezi which is expected to be released on 5 september 2014.This has been confirmed by one of the group members Kelvin Kachimanga aka Native Carter.

Carter well known as a hiphop artist is now an afro-pop singer.... All his latest singles are now in afro-pop style... He urged Hi Squad  fans to expect more love and inspirational songs this year.

Just after releasing  taledzera nchikondi carter says together with his group they will make sure that entertainment comes with a bang. He then added that currently they are shooting a video for taledzera nchikondi and more videos will be flocking in from this coming november.

To his fellow artists he strongly said they should be creative and be proud of their unique styles. He added that the public will appreciate if they make music in a style of their kind than being copycats. He also pleaded with his fellow mzuzu artists to stop putting much effort on dissing their friends but rather all the effort should be put on music which will mean something to each and every ear that listens to it.

King Chambiecco to spice up sand music festival and Mafunyeta memorial show

Celebrated dancehall icon  King Chambiecco aka Zam`bongo is expected to spice up the weekend with two shows. The pachimkwezamau legend confirmed this development with us earlier today and added that fans should expect explosions on the stage like he always do.

King Chambiecco is to perform at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach during the Sun Music Festival on saturday from 15:00hrs to 16:00hrs. Other artists to bless the occasion are lucius banda,,B1 from zambia,,oga family,,skefa,,black missionaries,,gwamba,,nesnes,,piksy,,black jack,,lulu,,paul banda,,plus many more.


On sunday he will be rocking the mafunyeta`s memorial show in blantyre alongside Lambani Dube, Black Jack, Akadaulo, Comrade, Shozie, Malinga Mafia, Biggie Lu, Mabilinganya Empire and Genii Blak.The show is to be hosted at Afro Motel from 13:00hrs.

Chambiecco continued by thanking his fans for the massive support they always show him and promised to bring out the hottest part of his talent everytime he goes behind the microphone both on stage and in the booth.

Asked if there are any latest tracks chambiecco said alot of tracks are on the way, some have already been recorded and only waiting for his manager to give out the release dates.He concluded by saying malawians should remember the greatest m dubz has ever produced like the likes of Mafunyeta, Matafale, Vic Marley and many more.

Cliffdaddy to release two singles

mzuzu based artist tha cliffdaddy is to release two hit singles on 30 august 2014. The tracks which were recorded in mzuzu are zimawawawa (a reggae track) which he did solo and chikondi chako a love tune which he featured nanny boy from mzuzu as well.

the tracks will be available on the internet for free downloads from 13:00hrs this saturday on www.urbanmalawi.com/cliffdaddy and www.reverbnation.com/cliffdaddy plus other websites. a couple of well known radio station will premier these tracks on the same day. it is also confirmed by NORTHERN SPIN INC that zimawawawa video will be shot in lilongwe early september and its to be released later on.

A little chat with Lem Vee

L city based rapper Lem Vee is back on the block with a new joint dubbed trynna be like me in which he features Episodz and Dee oh dub The track was recorded by rayfane and episodz and it is the second one in his upcoming mixtape tittled keep it ghatah. The mixtape features some local artists like big ta ,gwamba,kyc,piksy,excess,slessor,criptokk and macelba just to mention a few Other songs in this mixtape are Tafika ft GD and shozie the oh noo star, here I am ft criptokk and macelba and am all that ft zyuga and bfb of exclusive records.

 Asked what his fans should expect from him Lem said "To be honest I don't know how I can say it but expect big. expect what you've never seen before. Just stay alert coz am surely dropping a bomb." "Am shooting videos for the hit patuka ft episoz,kyc and big ta and also here I am ft criptokk and macelba" he added.

 On the status of our music industry here in malawi, Lem strongly believe we have a lot to learn and understand. He pointed on lack of support and appreciation from fellow musicians and promoters. Lack of creativity among artists as nowadays there is much of beat biting than beat creating. He said most artist just copy from what others have already done.

  According to him, malawian artists should pull up their solks. Not that they are bad or dull but they aren't there yet. And to his part he said he's working hard and doing the best that he can to keep the industry in shape.

 "Am doing my best ....I think if I express myself in my music people will grasp something out of it hence I as lem vee is 100% contributing to the productivity of the industry, people should love what they do and then have a purpose in life. dont just do things coz everyone around you seems to be doing the same. Change the game and keep it real ....be yourself and stop being somebody else. its just a waste of time." said Lem Vee.

meet bwabz hill from north warriors

born as francis phiri bwabz hill is a reggae dancehall artist based in lilongwe. he was born on january 7 1993 and currently studying motor vehicle mechanics at lilongwe technical college. he and his friends formed a clique known as north warriors and so far they are enjoying massive airplay by most of our local radio and tv stations.

bwabz has jumped on many local and international riddims including ebola riddim by warge records and yagwa riddim by dj scarpper. together with his clique "NORTH WARRIORS" bwabz has so far  shot 3 videos

a glimpse of pampene alliance

northside malawi has really experienced some rise in talent recently. one of the sensational clique that keeps entertaining the side is pampene alliance.
this clique is based in karonga and includes the likes of crispy p.i.g and mandizo. they work with drumsounds studios with thin dinius as their producer, and seriously speaking the man knows how to mix and spice things up for the group. we have seen ngungu riddim being produced by this genius and it has really impressed masses of pampene alliance fans all over malawi.
these guys have worked with other producers like lilongwe based tk more who is also a great producer in malawi.They have featured guys like cliffdaddy,cool gal,super nino, ken lo and cop jay just to mentin a few.
