Get to know Malawiz Number One Dj Scarpper aka Son Of Africa

Malawi is blessed with lots of talented people, talk of wonderful footballers, musicians, comedians and of course Dj`s. One of the finest cream of dj`s in Malawi who has made a name by himself with his magic hands when it comes to spinning turntables is Dj Scarpper.
Born James Ibrahim on 7th March in 1985 in Zimbabwe, Scarpper a big fan of all types of music genres, Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Dancehall, Drum n Bass, Trace, House and Afro you name it. He is an afro/house Dj when it comes to parties etc but on radio he plays any kind of music. His passion for music since secondary school days has landed him behind turntables. One would say he has transformed from a normal Dj to one of the kings of turntables. He got all of his Dj education as follows:

- Radio Training by Hallo FM from India - Degree/concentration in Studio Management & Media Management

- Dj University: In Mozambique (Maputo)

His works gradually turned into international cream since his tender age of 13 (1998), now he has an impressive resume from spinning at mega nightclubs, celebrity and private VIP parties across the world pointing  VIP BLUE NIGHT PARTY a Celebration after Hon. Peter Muthalika was released from police cell, the party was held at Portuguese club on 15th March 2013, performing alongside Big Nuzz, Dj Tira & L'vovo, oskido from South Africa @ Waka Waka and hosting the Malawi 50 years of independence celebrations in Salima courtesy of Multichoice Malawi together with B1 from Zambia as some of his wonderful works.

The dj has also played in most big club`s in Malawi like: Harry`s Bar when it was hot, Synergy and in most of big events in Malawi. He was one of the selected Dj`s around the globe to perform at an international music festival Lake of stars in 2005 and in 2006 and being the only voted dj by white people at the festival to perform twice on the main stage because of his mixing. With the tittle Malawiz Number One Dj, Scarpper has also performed for Multichoice Malawi (DSTV) Big Brother welcome parties for 2011 big brother representative Felicia and 2012 big brother double welcome parties in Lilongwe and Blantyre for Wati P and Nafe Kulemeka and in 2013 the DJ hosted again BBA welcome party for Natasha and BBA red carpet. This award-winning DJ was awarded with an achievement gold medal UMP by Nde`feo Entertainment in 2013 on the 27th July in Blantyre. He has also performed at a number of high profile VIP private parties, including a VIP party that was hosted at the Crossroads Hotel for Professor Peter Muthalika a brother to the late President of Malawi (R.I.P). Scarpper is also a renowned radio presenter and a librarian working with Galaxy fm Radio Station.
His only secret behind all this is "don’t sell it out" and works with a motto that says " I CAN (easy to learn) hence he loves to be called RJ Scarpper on Radio and Mlwz#1djscarpper in the Clubs. Of all his dreams he has one dream which he can`t reach on his own, so he`s asking the government to join hands with him to make the dream come true. His dream is basically for the youth, he has quiet a number of good ideas for the them. Ideas which can change the attitudes of the youths in our country, hence he hopes Allah helps him.

He has designed a youth center of which he dreams to be built in Lilongwe hence the need to work with government or any other willing NGO. The youth center will have facilities like; music studio, aids counseling centre, basket ball colt, swimming pool, netball colt, multipurpose hall, music school to mention just a few.

He`s worked with an organization called FAMILY PLANNING ASSOCIATION OF MALAWI (FPAM) as a peer educator on HIV/AIDS and the use of male and female condoms in 1999, Book him now you won't regret your choice or losing your money and wasting time, the good news is after resigning from working in a club as a resident DJ, Scarpper has now given his full-time to his people to book him on any kind of events at any time and elsewhere around the World as a DJ or sound/light engineer and a graphic designer.

Scarpper has the talent and expertise to make any party a memorable one, something you would want to repeatedly happen. It is completely safe to say that with Dj Scarpper behind the turntables, you will not want the party to end!. His breaking through into a professional dj came in the year 2005 when he won the once mighty Top Sprite DJ (Central region competition) and since then he has never looked back.

Currently he owns an entertainment label known as TEaM X1 and yet to be established music recording firm Scar records 85, he`s also is involved in mixtape circuit, rocking parties, promotions, VIP functions and cooperate events, night clubs and other events. His style of playing music includes Cutting, Blending, Scratching, Rooping etc. This guy enjoys seeing his people going crazy when he plays new tracks, if you've witnessed this puregenius/mastermind at work you would recommend him to your friends to book him for sure.

He possesses the stereotypical qualities of a DJ which are his good looks, his charm and the ability to get a party jumping. Adding on that he also has qualities which some DJ s out there don't have and he calls them MAD talent and passion for good music. He breathes music, dates music, thinks music, talks music, dream music and madly loves music in his free times. These qualities have earned him a strong reputation of being Malawi's number one DJ by dishing out dope live mixes wherever he goes.

Malawiz #1 Dj Scarpper has two younger brothers who are also best DJ s in the city of Lilongwe that is Dj Starnaz currently working for Zanzi 3D and Dj Small-ton, and the most interesting part is that he`s a single guy. As a bonafide talented guy, he hates nobody, he believes in being a friend to everyone. He never smoke or drink and its his desire to keep on like that. Promoting others is what he works for and his thanks goes to all his fans across the globe. To him he wouldn't be where he is today without the great support he`s received over his entire career.

As a Dj he is working on his album dubbed "son of africa" and urges his fellow Dj s to keep up the good work and push it further so as to keep people happy at all times because a happy face never gets old to him.

Rootsman releases Ndipovuta video

Rootsman, a reggae star from Balaka has just released ndipovuta video, a video so much awaited by his fans. This video is one blockbuster you don't want to miss. Its a song that talks of holding on to your loved one and realizing that its very hard to let go and forget them.

Rootsman is known for his deep lyrics, lyrics that one would nod their heads in appreciation and respect. He thinks deep and he delivers his message in such a way that no one would want to skip his songs. Balaka is blessed to have such a wonderful artist, he has worked with the likes of Bide Marley, Chipie Chiand, Cliffdaddy and Holyboy just to mention a few.

With his clique Sunset Crew, Rootsman has recorded a number of tracks which are enjoying a great deal of airplay on some well known radio stations. Currently he is working on his mixtape tittled ndipovuta and half of the songs to be compiled in the mixtape is done. He has also worked with professional producers like Tkmore.

Mzuzu based rapper vows to switch lyrical lanes, says beef music is too childish

Mzuzu based rapper K Man says he is leaving beef music behind and taking another musical lane which will be alittle more meaningful to himself and to his fans as well. He says he wants to put much of his effort on music as a grown up and gentleman because he sees nothing profitable in dissing fellow artists.

K Man made it quiet clear that his next project will be far much better than his previous projects because now people will have to see him from another angle, an angle that is alot much better to describe an artist.

To him being a good artist isn't all about diss or something but rather its the effectiveness of your lyrical content to any listener out there. How deep your music penetrates their hearts and minds, that is how well does it fit in their everyday life.

His next single is set to be released this coming December and fans should expect something more mature and educating. He vows to put much of life in his songs so as to keep alive  that feeling of listening to his songs over and over again.

So far K Man has released a couple of tracks loved by many people across the nation. His fans loves him much because  of his spectacular way of delivering his choruses.

Dj Scarpper brings yagwa best song of the year and ladies night out

Dj Scarpper is not a new name in the urban music circles, he is a very well celebrated dj at Galaxy Fm. He is known by his humble way of promoting both known and upcoming artists, he deserves alittle bit of credit on that.

He thought of creating a program to help him with his mission and it has been an outstanding achievement for him, thats Yagwa top 15 chart. Hosted by  Dj Scarpper himself  this is  one of the best radio programs when it comes to urban music in Malawi. 

Now as we are about to round up the year, He has thought of respecting and recognizing  some of the artists featured on the program since January this year with awards dubbed "YAGWA BEST SONG OF THE YEAR". The awards will fall under the following cartigories:

- Hip-hop icon
- Afro beat icon

Sichipsyinjo hits the bull`s eye

Mzuzu city has recently seen a rapid rise in urban music, talk of the likes of K Man, Big Paul, Cliffdaddy, Native Carter, Fireman, Mijavi Boys, Brain Wave, Ajawa, Lady Pace, Carbon and Green Gaza Empire to mention just a few.

We`ve seen alot of nice music from the center of urban music in the northern region, now Bigue Map just released a banger titled sichipsyinjo which was recorded at super sounds in Mzuzu by Dj Ken Lo.
Bigue is quiet known by his hardcore gangsta flows which is quiet awesome to say the truth.

Sichipsyinjo is that song which most of the listeners especially male ones enjoy very much because of its rich content. Its mainly based on a theme of not being a man who acts a fool just to please his beautiful woman. Of course ladies need a couple of sweet words and actions but it doesn't mean that because she`s a cutie then her man should be treated like a puppy.

A man isn't supposed to be apologizing to his lady every time they go fighting, he shouldn't take her as some majestic being who always wants a bunch of praises. A lady must be loyal to her man, she must support him in all the possible ways that she can.

In this song Bigue is throwing punchlines to all men who fall victims of these beautiful ladies who think they deserve tonnes of praises every passing second. He strongly advises such men to open their eyes and at least get freed from this syndrome.

Sichipsyinjo has received a massive support from fans all over Malawi and alot of them can`t wait to see its video being shot. It has taken and penetrated the hearts of many fans because its not fiction song but rather its based on everyday life.

Karonga`s finest dancehall clique Pampene Alliance to release Chichiwe video

When you hit the streets of Karonga in the northern part of Malawi, Pampene Alliance is that name which has left marks all over. Its a name that has made friends with all the corners of the town, a name with an undisputed dominance.

Its the taste of their songs that makes this clique dominant in Karonga, they really got a way of attracting an ear of every possible listener coming across their music. No ear can deny itself a chance of tasting this Pampene Alliance words.

This clique has recorded and released a couple of great songs lately and we`ve seen their rise in the music circles with a rapid take over. The songs are enjoying a great deal of airplay on different radio stations in the country.

Out of all the amazing songs, Pampene has decided to shoot a video for chichiwe (bwanji iwee?). This is a track that is attacking people who are  existing only to make lives of other people hard and regretable to live. All the badminded people,people who just wish badluck on others just because of their jelous.

The uniqueness of this song is that its for everyone, whether from up north, central or down south. The boys (crispy,p.i.g & mandizo) thought it wise to reach out to every Malawian  regardless of their respective regions. This is what Malawians should be listening to, unique lyrics, meaningful lyrics and wonderful concepts.

Speaking on the project, one of the clique members Crispy  said that people should expect something fantastic and something very mature. He added on saying that the project was well planned and well prepared, and that it was shot by proffessionals, that is Eminent Pictures  which is one of the best videographers in the north. As you can see this is no minor project even though its the first of its kind for Pampene Alliance.

After finishing this project, another project like this is set to be thrown on the table. There will be another video shooting and this time around its gonna be a song titled takusowani a project to be made possible in conjuction with Drumsounds Entertainment and The Northern Faces.

Lem Vee`s Last Drop

Lilongwe is blessed with a lot of talented young boys, Lem Vee is no exception on this. This lad is something else when it comes to spitting words on the microphone, he`s just great. Just a few days ago he had yet another wonderful date with the booth at S U RECORDS where Janta does the magic.

From that date with the S U RECORDS booth Lem is set to drop his latest hottie titled Last Drop  in which he features Sitiwulura. One might wonder what name Sitiwulura is but just be cool and judge by the way these two stars drop words on an instrumental....... one word you can say is "this is a bomb!!!"

Commenting on this Last Drop Lem said that the song talks about sticking to your own stuff, battling to the last blood. Never giving up, no fear and self belief. He also added that its gonna be one of the best songs ever to emerge from the central.
