STAR OF THE WEEK: Thin Dinius

Born Martin Botha Thin Dinius is one of the producers you cant skip mentioning in the music circles of Malawi more especially in urban music. He is based in Karonga and owns Drum Sounds Studios where he has produced a lot of urban artists like the likes of  late dance-hall icon Mafunyeta,,Mady P, Pampene Alliance and Flava na Virus just to mention a few.

Recently he produced  Ngungu Riddim which took Malawi by storm as it was a hot cake for a lot of djs all over the nation and many people saluted him for the skill he poured on the riddim. This riddim featured  both renowned and upcoming artists. We saw the likes of reggae sensation Roy view, Blaze, Manzy Mecca, The Negative X and many more jumping on the riddim.

For Dinius 2014 is a year of possibilities to him, moving forward and doing the best that he can  is all he wants. He, as  a well trained music producer for both audio and video wants to see urban music rise to its peak and see it improve to international standards so that we can be able to compete with music from across the globe.

He put much blame on the undisputed rule of technology over the music industry.....
"The music industry i can say is not that great right now, technology is somehow killing it. Artists no longer depend on sales but live shows, nobody goes on the market to buy an audio CD these days, people just download". said Dinius

His plans are to come up with one of the most reliable recording labels in Malawi and to train as many artists as he can so that they can be able to handle live performances which as of  now is a problem to many artists. All he wants is to see fans enjoying a great deal of  live stage performance and seeing people appreciating what they spend their money on.
